Pay Range: $27.84 to $41.77 per hour DOQ

1. Recommends actions related to hiring, discipline, advancement, or other changes in employee status of employees. Completes performance appraisals for direct reports. Establishes performance targets, monitors performance and provides necessary training or coaching for improvement

2. Plans, organizes and directs all activities and workloads related to Police Records, Walk-In Services, and Evidence and Property.

3. Monitors services to citizens requesting reports, records and property. Handles issues with citizens that escalate beyond the control of the staff.

4. Conduct and manage annual property room audits and inspections.

5. Oversee department records, evidence and property destruction activities.

6. Oversees the daily balancing and reconciliation of the department's records receipts.

7. Process and manage packets involving Driving while Intoxicated (DWI) cases to the State of Missouri.

8. Liquor licensing; including receiving and processing applications; analyze for compliance with city ordinance; recommends ordinance amendments and council packets for amendments, zoning issues, appeals.

9. Utilize specialized computer software to perform redactions for complex video requests; manage department video storage and removal pursuant to State of Missouri records retention laws.

10. Perform quality control tasks in records management system with regards to court ordered expungements, review and removal of unintended reports (as requested by supervision), etc.

11. Prepares and monitors status of warrant records in department, court, and regional databases.

12. Coordinates department policy and procedure efforts to include revision, research and writing, archiving, approvals and dissemination.

13. Support Assistant Director of Police Administrative Services in duties related to maintaining accredited status and coordinating on-site accreditation reviews.

14. Maintain standard operating procedure manuals for assigned units to include annual review, periodic updates and revisions.

15. Liaison for Lee's Summit Municipal Court for administrative processes.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Must be 18 years old at time of employment

2. Must be a United States citizen or authorized alien worker

3. Associate's degree or equivalent hours from an accredited college or university required.

4. Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university preferred.

5. Minimum of five years of experience in police or closely related field.

6. Must have Notary Public, or ability to obtain within six (6) months of hire.

7. Valid state Motor Vehicle Operator's license and acceptable driving record required.

8. Credible work history.

9. No felony convictions or commission of or participation in any felony crime, whether detected or not.

10. No on-going or repetitious history of committing or participating in Misdemeanor crimes, whether detected or not.

11. Demonstrated supervisory and administrative experience in law enforcement records, property, or office management.
